Concert Band

The Hickman High School band program offers opportunities in the study and performance of various types of instrumental (band) music through participation in one of 4 ability-based ensembles: Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band. Placement into each band is determined by the directors as a result of the Columbia Public Schools audition process.

Concert Band

Concert Band repertoire typically consists of traditional and contemporary band literature ranging from Levels I-III. Placement in Concert Band is made through a CPS adopted audition process in the spring of the prior year. Concert Band participates in several concerts during the school year as well as a local large ensemble music festival.

Symphonic Band

Symphonic Band repertoire typically consists of traditional and contemporary band literature ranging from Levels II-III. Placement in Symphonic Band is made through a CPS adopted audition process in the spring of the prior year. Symphonic Band participates in several concerts during the school year as well as the State Large Ensemble Music Festival.
